PRISM Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

PRISM Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

Our Internal Medicine/Pediatrics providers have intensive training in preventing, diagnosing and treating medical disorders in both children and adults.  They focus on the physical, emotional and social health of patients throughout their entire life.

You may have noticed that many practices are moving away from hospital care, however, we would like to assure you that we still see our own patients when they are hospitalized. We believe that continuity of care is very important and that it is best for a patient to be taken care of by a doctor who knows their medical history and will continue to follow up with them. If you are ever hospitalized at Beaumont, we will be there as your primary care physicians. If during your stay you do not see us, or are admitted to the service of physician you are unfamiliar with, please do hesitate to tell the staff you are our patient and ask them to contact us. You have the right to ask that your care be transferred to our service. Our patients are very important to us and we want to be sure that we are there when you need us most. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call us.

Appointments

Please call our office to schedule an appointment. We have a cancellation and no-show policy. Patients who do not show for an appointment will be charged a fee. For physicals and wellness exams, patients will be charged a fee if they don’t show, or if they cancel within 24 hours of the appointment.

Prescription Refills

  • When calling for a prescription refill, please allow 48 hours for the request to be completed.  Refill requests are sent to your provider for approval.  If you are overdue for a visit to the office, your provider may require you to schedule an appointment before filling the prescription.
  • In most cases, prescriptions can be sent directly to your pharmacy.
  • Antibiotics generally will not be given over the phone.  People with symptoms of sinus or respiratory infections should be examined.  Please call to schedule an appointment, or visit an urgent care center if our offices are closed.
  • After Hours – A provider is on call after regular business hours for urgent matters.  Please call your providers office and follow the instructions to leave a message for the provider on call.  If you need to be seen when our office is closed, please visit the DocNow Urgent Care Center on the first floor of the Wellpointe Building.

Phone Calls

Your call is important to us! If you need to speak with us during business hours, please leave your name, the nature of your problem, and your daytime and evening phone numbers. We return calls as soon as possible. To serve you faster, we may ask you to talk to a nurse about your problem.

If you are experiencing an urgent problem and the office is closed, please call our answering service at:  248-544-6917

The answering service will contact us and a Doctor will return your call as soon a possible.

Please note:  Non-urgent prescription refills and test results are handled during regular business hours.
